A little back story. Our son was born at 37.5 weeks two and a half years ago via emergency c-section. I had gone into labor naturally with him, received an epidural and had my water broken by the doctor. While we were waiting for the epidural to kick in, they noticed his heart rate dipping with every contraction and made the decision for an emergency c-section. He was perfectly healthy, but sunny side up and the cord was wrapped around his shoulders. When I got pregnant with Lucy, the debate I wrestled with for my entire pregnancy was if I was going to attempt a VBAC or move forward with a planned c-section.

I look back at our birth story and I feel a mix of emotions. Honestly, it has taken me months to feel positive about the experience. For months afterwards, I almost felt PTSD from the experience. When people asked me our story, it was like therapy for me to go back through the experience, cry, and tell people what happened. Now I look back and am able to hug and kiss my little girl and thank God that she is healthy and in my arms. My heart could not be any more full having her in my life.

Ever since finding out I was pregnant, I’ve developed a pretty standard summer maternity dress uniform - which is mostly just dresses that are stretchy, flattering, comfortable, and inexpensive. I bought most of them in black, navy, or olive - so I just throw on the same sandals or jacket and call it a day. I’ve been able to find some really good deals online lately - which is nice because I don’t like to spend too much on maternity clothes that will only fit me for a short time. I thought I’d share some of my favorites here in case any other mamas are struggling to find cute dresses without breaking the bank. These are all on either Amazon or Target to make life easy.
