Camilla's Journey * Raising a Child with Developmental Delays by Caitlin Revane Richmond
Our daughter has been a fighter since day one and continues to amaze us with her strength and determination. There are days when it just breaks you and you think why her, it’s not fair she should be running around and having the time of her life! And then you have to pull yourself out of those thoughts because kids feed off your energy and attitude...you are their #1 cheerleader!
Meal Plan at Your Own Risk by Lindsay Gerber
Meal planning, right? Everyone is doing it. I am going to be so organized. I am going to have the most Pinterest looking chalkboard, placed over my newly painted shiplap. It will be loaded up with 5 new meals and only 2 days of leftovers, all written in my fanciest handwriting. I might even get cute and draw a flower on the side. What an accomplishment this will be. Surely, everyone will love my food because I’ve carefully and strategically planned it out.
Going back to work after maternity leave
Going back to work after being on maternity leave can be really challenging. On the one hand, you are kind of looking forward to getting back into your old routine, but on the other, at least for me, I felt like I really didn’t want to go back - even though I knew in my heart that I’d be fine once I got there...and even if I didn’t want to, I had to because we were not in a position to be a one income family from a financial standpoint. I tried to beg and barter with my husband to find a way to make it work but it was a no go.
Postpartum fitspo - give your body some grace!
There's no shortage of postpartum fitness "inspo" out there. It seems as though everywhere you turn, someone has miraculously gotten their pre-baby body back two days after they deliver, and even though we know it's not realistic, it's hard to see without drawing comparisons to yourself and your own body.
